Warm beige and cream is what Egypt quarries in the largest volume, and the names overlap across quarries and traders. This page groups every beige and cream marble in our catalogue by where it comes from, so you can see the whole family side by side.

Egyptian beige and Thala beige from Tunisia
Buyers around the Mediterranean price Egyptian beige against Thala, the beige Tunisia quarries for itself and exports. The two are genuinely comparable, and an honest comparison is worth more to you than a sales line, so here it is.
Colour and grain
Galala Classic is a warm, even cream-beige with a fine grain and only occasional light clouding, which is why a large floor in it reads as one surface. Galala Extra is the selected, lighter and more uniform grade of the same bed, and Perlato Galala carries pearly pockets that give a floor movement. Silvia Menia, from Minya, is the quietest beige of the group. Thala is its own material with its own ground and figure: ask both sides for photographs of the actual slabs and compare those, not the names.
Bed, formats and finishes
We supply Egyptian beige as blocks sold by the cubic metre, gangsaw slabs, calibrated tiles, cut-to-size, steps and sills, in finishes from polished to sandblasted; each stone page lists what is produced for that stone. Put the same question to the Tunisian producer in the same words — which formats, which thicknesses, which finishes — and you will have two answers you can lay side by side.
Route and freight
Egyptian beige loads at Alexandria, Port Said or Sokhna and reaches Radès or Sfax on a short Mediterranean leg, and any other Mediterranean port on a direct call. Thala moves by lorry inside Tunisia: no sea leg, no certificate of origin, no clearance to go wrong.
Availability over a long programme
Block production on the Galala fronts runs continuously rather than in campaigns, which is what makes a phased delivery and a re-order two years later a reasonable request rather than a hope. Keep a tile from the first delivery and send it back with the re-order, whichever country you buy from.
Where Thala is the better buy
If the job is in Tunisia and the specification simply says beige, Thala is usually the better buy and we will say so: a local producer with no freight and no origin file is hard to beat on landed cost. Where Egypt wins is granite, which Tunisia does not quarry — Aswan red and grey for external paving, kerbs, stair treads and coastal work — and the colours Thala does not make, the golden Menia marbles. Ask us for the CIF Radès quotation and compare it honestly.

Buying Egyptian beige marble
Which Egyptian beige marble is the most used?
Galala Classic is Egypt's flagship beige: warm, even and produced in volume. Galala Extra is the selected, lighter and more uniform grade of the same stone.
Is there an Egyptian alternative to Botticino?
Egyptian Botticino is the Egyptian answer to the classic Italian botticino. Ask for photographs of the actual slabs before you choose, because natural stone varies from block to block.
Which formats do you supply?
Blocks, gangsaw slabs, cut-to-size and tiles, in polished, honed and other finishes. Each marble page lists the formats and finishes produced for that stone.
Egyptian beige or Thala from Tunisia?
It depends where you are building. Inside Tunisia, with a specification that says only beige, Thala is often the better buy: no freight and no origin file. Outside Tunisia the comparison is made on landed cost, and our advantage is granite, which Tunisia does not quarry, and the colours Thala does not make. Ask us for the quotation and compare it.
What is the minimum order?
One 20 ft container. Different beige marbles, thicknesses and finishes can travel in the same container.
Tell us the stone, the format and the quantity.
We come back with FOB and CIF prices and a lead time, usually within one working day.
