01 — What we cut

Tiles, stairs, skirting and tops

Floor tiles

Calibrated tiles in 60 × 60 cm, and in 30 × 30, 30 × 60, 40 × 40, 60 × 120 cm and free length, 2 cm or 3 cm thick. Polished or honed for interiors, flamed where an exterior or a textured surface is specified.

Stair treads and risers

Treads with a square, pencil-round or bullnose nosing, anti-slip grooves on request, and risers cut to the same stone and finish so a staircase reads as one piece.

Landings

Landing slabs cut to the dimensions on your drawing, from the same batch as the treads.

Skirting

Skirting cut to the heights on your drawings, with the top edge eased or polished, in straight lengths for corridors and wards.

Wall cladding

Panels cut to a setting-out plan for lobbies, lift walls and wet areas.

Vanity and counter tops

Tops cut to size with the cut-outs and edges on the drawing, in the same granite as the floor or a contrasting one.

04 — Who it is for

Public buildings, housing and hotels

Hospitals and clinics, ministries and schools, housing schemes and hotels: floors that take heavy traffic and cleaning, stairs that have to match them, and skirting in long runs. The work usually arrives as a bill of quantities, and we quote it the same way, line by line, with the container count.

Every piece is marked to your schedule and crated in heat-treated timber, so a crate can be opened floor by floor. For the stone you select we arrange water absorption, flexural strength and abrasion tests at an accredited laboratory. Payment is 50 % in advance, 30 % on approval after production and 20 % before shipping.

Questions

Buying granite floor tiles from Egypt

Which thickness for project floors, 2 or 3 cm?

Both are produced as calibrated tiles. 2 cm is usual for interior floors laid on a mortar bed; 3 cm is what many public-building specifications and bills of quantities call for in heavy-traffic areas. Follow your engineer's specification and tell us which items need which.

Can tiles, steps and skirting come from the same stone?

Yes. Treads, risers, landings and skirting are cut from the same blocks as the floor tiles wherever the quantity allows, so the colour holds across the building.

What nosing do you cut on stair treads?

Square (eased), pencil round, half bullnose or full bullnose, with anti-slip grooves on request. Send the stair detail and we cut to it.

Do you provide test results for the stone?

For the stone you select we arrange water absorption, flexural strength and abrasion tests at an accredited laboratory, so the results belong to the material you receive.

How many square metres fit in a 20 ft container?

About 421 m² of 2 cm granite tiles, or 281 m² at 3 cm, on a 25 t payload with packing. Tiles, steps and skirting can share one container.

What are the payment terms?

50 % in advance on order, 30 % after you approve the finished production, 20 % before shipping.
