Extra is a grade, not a quarry. It is the same Galala Mountain stone as Galala Classic, and the blocks with the palest ground and the fewest markings are selected block by block and cut separately. That is the whole of the difference. What comes out is a near-uniform cream that behaves as a neutral: it sits under strong joinery, dark metal and timber without arguing with them, and it photographs clean under warm light and cool light alike. The narrow offer follows from that. Three finishes only, polished, honed and brushed, because a textured face would throw the shadow the grade exists to avoid, and no steps, no facades, no external work anywhere on the list. It is specified for interior floors, cladding, vanity tops, reception desks and retail. Since quantity depends on how many blocks make grade rather than on how much stone is cut, fix the area at order stage and allow the longer lead time.
Extra and Galala Classic are one stone at two selections. Classic carries the occasional soft cloud and comes with the full breadth — six finishes, steps, sills, mosaic, facades, and continuous block supply; Extra trades all of that for a paler, quieter ground with almost nothing happening in it, and asks for a longer lead time in return.

A photograph shows one slab on a stand. This shows the stone tile after tile — where the pattern repeats, how far the tone drifts across a batch, and what the joint does to it. Every tile here is cut from a different part of the surface, the way material comes out of a real crate.
Indicative layout. Tone drift is deliberate — no two tiles from one batch match exactly, and a laid floor should never look like one photograph repeated.

How Galala Extra is supplied
Blocks
Quarry blocks selected and squared. Typical 2.6 – 3.0 × 1.5 × 1.5 m, 18 – 30 tonnes. Sold by m³, loaded on flat rack or in-container with steel cradles.
Gangsaw slabs
Full-size slabs from the gangsaw. Marble typically 2.6 – 3.0 × 1.6 – 1.9 m in 2 cm and 3 cm; granite 2 cm and 3 cm. Bundled by block so vein sequence is preserved.
Tiles
Calibrated tiles in 30×30, 30×60, 40×40, 60×60, 60×120 cm and free length, 1.0 – 3.0 cm. Edges straight-cut or bevelled, back-mesh on request.
Cut-to-size
Worked to your drawings — worktops, vanity tops, cladding panels, mitres, cut-outs, drainage grooves, undermount polishing. Supplied piece-marked to a setting-out plan. How a cut-to-size order runs

Galala Extra — questions buyers ask
Is Galala Extra from a different quarry than Galala Classic?
No. It is the same Galala Mountain material — blocks with the palest ground and the fewest markings are selected block by block and sawn separately. The name describes a selection, not a source.
Why is the lead time longer than on Galala Classic?
Because the quantity available depends on how many blocks make the grade in a given period, not on how much stone is being cut. Fix your full area at order stage rather than ordering in instalments and expecting the same selection to be there for the second one.
Can I use Galala Extra on a facade or an external stair?
It is not offered for either. The applications on the record are interior only — floors, cladding, vanity tops, reception desks, retail — it is run only polished, honed and brushed, and steps are not in the format list. For an external run in the same stone family, Galala Classic carries the sandblasted and tumbled faces and is made as steps.
Will it hold this pale under warm lighting?
Holding its ground under warm and cool light alike is the reason the grade exists, and it is why it gets used behind dark joinery and metal. Still judge it on a sample under your actual lamp rather than from a screen.
