02 — Paperwork
What has to travel with it
CE marking under the EU harmonised standards, with a Declaration of Performance: EN 1341 for paving slabs, EN 1342 for setts, EN 1343 for kerbs and EN 12058 for slabs and stairs. Tell us the standard and the use your project is specified to. For the stone you select we arrange water absorption, flexural strength and abrasion tests at an accredited laboratory.
03 — What sells here
Stone that suits Poland
Poland builds with granite: steps, window sills, paving, kerbs and facades, most of it Indian and Chinese today. Egyptian granite is a closer source with a shorter sea leg, and Egyptian beige marble covers the interior work.

Blocks
Granite blocks for Polish processors
Poland's processors saw imported granite blocks, most of them from India, South Africa and Zimbabwe today. Egyptian granite blocks — Aswan Red, Gandola, Grey Aswan, New Halayeb and Black Aswan — are squared, net-measured and sold by the cubic metre, typically 2.6 – 3.0 × 1.5 × 1.5 m and 18 – 30 tonnes, with photographs of every face and the dimensions of every block before you commit.
Tell us what you saw with and the sizes you work to, and we square for that.
Memorials
Granite for memorials
Black Aswan, Aswan Red, Gandola, New Halayeb and Grey Aswan go into memorial work as well as steps, sills, paving and facades: as blocks for your own workshop, as slabs, or cut to your sizes. The certificate of origin travels with every container.
Route
Alexandria to Gdańsk, direct
A direct service between Alexandria and Gdańsk has run since 2026, about two weeks at sea. Stone from India and China takes far longer to reach the Baltic, because most Asia–Europe sailings still go round the Cape of Good Hope. Gdańsk also serves buyers in Czechia and the Baltic states.
Interiors
Beige marble and limestone for interiors
Galala, Sunny Menia, Silvia Menia and Milly Gray are the Egyptian beiges and greys for floors, walls, bathrooms and stairs indoors: calibrated tiles at 2 cm in polished, honed or brushed finishes, or slabs for cutting locally. They belong indoors; for anything outside, choose granite.
04 — Questions
Buying from Egypt, into Poland
Can you supply steps?
Yes. Treads, risers, landings and skirting are cut from the same blocks as the floor tiles where quantities allow, and sills and other pieces to your list as cut-to-size.
What paperwork comes with the stone?
A certificate of origin, the commercial invoice, the packing list and the bill of lading. Tell us the standard your project is specified to; for the stone you select we arrange the laboratory tests at an accredited laboratory.
What is the smallest order?
One 20 ft container. Several stones can share it.
Quoting for Poland?
Send the stone, the finish, the thickness, the quantity and the destination port. You get FOB and CIF prices and a lead time, usually within one working day.
