Aswan Red is the bed the obelisks in Rome, Paris and Istanbul were cut from, and it is still worked today. The crystal is coarse — deep red-pink feldspar with black and translucent grey grains through it — so the stone reads as flat colour at building scale and resolves into separate grains at arm's length. That coarseness is the whole specification decision. On a kerb line or a paved square it works for you, because weathering and traffic marking disappear into the grain; on a small worktop the same crystal reads busy. Six finishes are cut, from polished through to flamed and bush-hammered, and the format list runs to kerbs, cobbles and steps as well as blocks, slabs, tiles and cut-to-size, which is why this is the material shipped most often for external paving, kerbs and monumental work. Availability is very high, so it suits quantity rather than one striking slab.
Red Aswan Light and Red Aswan Dark are graded selections out of this same bed — Light from the paler horizons with less black, Dark the oxblood end with a heavy amphibole load. Aswan Red is the bed itself, which is why it is the grade that comes in volume and in the full spread of landscape formats, kerbs, cobbles and steps included.

How Aswan Red is supplied
Blocks
Quarry blocks selected and squared. Typical 2.6 – 3.0 × 1.5 × 1.5 m, 18 – 30 tonnes. Sold by m³, loaded on flat rack or in-container with steel cradles.
Gangsaw slabs
Full-size slabs from the gangsaw. Marble typically 2.6 – 3.0 × 1.6 – 1.9 m in 2 cm and 3 cm; granite 2 cm and 3 cm. Bundled by block so vein sequence is preserved.
Tiles
Calibrated tiles in 30×30, 30×60, 40×40, 60×60, 60×120 cm and free length, 1.0 – 3.0 cm. Edges straight-cut or bevelled, back-mesh on request.
Cut-to-size

Aswan Red — questions buyers ask
Is Aswan Red the same stone as Red Aswan Light and Red Aswan Dark?
Same bed, different selections. Light is taken from the paler horizons and runs pink-red with less black; Dark is the oxblood end with heavy amphibole. If a large elevation has to match, name the grade on the order — "Aswan Red" on its own covers all three.
Which finish for external paving?
Flamed or bush-hammered. Flaming spalls the surface into a rough non-slip face and bush-hammering is the more aggressive texture again, used for ramps and heavy traffic. Sandblasted is the finer external option; polished and leathered belong indoors on this material.
Does it work for kitchen worktops?
Kitchen tops are in its application list and the granite is hard and dense enough for the work. The caution is visual, not technical: the crystal is coarse, so on a small island the grain reads busy. It sits better on a long run where the pattern has room.
