What has to travel with it
Australian biosecurity checks the packing and the container itself: crates and bearers are heat treated and marked to ISPM 15, and the container must arrive clean. A certificate of origin, the commercial invoice, the packing list and the bill of lading travel with every container. Australia banned engineered stone benchtops, panels and slabs from 1 July 2024, with imports banned from 1 January 2025, so for Australia we offer natural stone only. For the stone you select we arrange water absorption, flexural strength and abrasion tests at an accredited laboratory.
03 — What sells here
Stone that suits Australia
Australian buyers know Egyptian limestone best: Galala and the other Egyptian beiges go into floors and walls under the limestone name. Since the engineered-stone ban, natural stone is back on kitchen benchtops, and Egyptian granite gives fabricators a hard, dense slab for that work.

04 — Questions
Buying from Egypt, into Australia
Is natural stone affected by the engineered-stone ban?
No. The ban covers engineered stone. Marble, limestone and granite are natural stone and outside it, though cutting any stone makes dust, so fabricators work to the usual safe-work rules.
How do you pack for Australian biosecurity?
Heat-treated timber marked to ISPM 15, in a clean container. Tell your broker the packing type when the booking is made.
Can we use Egyptian limestone for pavers and pool coping?
Tell us the use first. For pavers and pool coping we arrange water-absorption tests on the stone you shortlist before you commit, and suggest granite where it is the better fit.
Quoting for Australia?
Send the stone, the finish, the thickness, the quantity and the destination port. You get FOB and CIF prices and a lead time, usually within one working day.
