Where the stone comes from
Galala comes from the plateau that rises above the Gulf of Suez, and it is Egypt's flagship beige: a warm, even ground produced in volume. We select and buy the blocks, then saw, finish and pack them ourselves in our Alexandria factory, and the port is in the same city.
The grades are not different materials. They are selections from the same plateau, and the step from one grade to the next is almost all block selection. For the same reason one grade does not stand in for another in the same floor: name the grade on the order, and the cut (vein or cross-cut) too.

Four ways to buy the same stone; the choice decides how much work is left at destination.
Blocks
Quarry blocks selected and squared. Typical 2.6 – 3.0 × 1.5 × 1.5 m, 18 – 30 tonnes. Sold by m³, loaded on flat rack or in-container with steel cradles.
Gangsaw slabs
Full-size slabs from the gangsaw. Marble typically 2.6 – 3.0 × 1.6 – 1.9 m in 2 cm and 3 cm; granite 2 cm and 3 cm. Bundled by block so vein sequence is preserved.
Tiles
Calibrated tiles in 30×30, 30×60, 40×40, 60×60, 60×120 cm and free length, 1.0 – 3.0 cm. Edges straight-cut or bevelled, back-mesh on request.
Cut-to-size
Worked to your drawings: cladding panels, steps and risers, sills and thresholds, vanity tops. Supplied piece-marked to a setting-out plan.
Minimum order one 20 ft container, which carries about 429 m² of 2 cm slabs or 286 m² of 3 cm, and different grades, thicknesses and finishes can share it. We load FOB at Alexandria, Port Said, Sokhna or quote CIF to your port. Payment: 50% with the order, 30% when you approve the finished production, 20% before shipment.

What to send for a quotation
Five things: the grade (or a photo and a sample, if the name you have is not one of ours), the format and thickness, the finish, the quantity and the destination port. A drawing or a bill of quantities shortens everything.

Buying Galala marble
What is the difference between Galala Classic and Galala Extra?
The same mountain, a different selection. Galala Classic: Egypt's flagship beige — warm, even and quarried in volume. Galala Extra: The selected, lightest and most uniform grade of Galala.
Is Galala marble or limestone?
Both words are used for the same stone. It is a compact carbonate stone: buyers in the Middle East and Italy order it as marble, buyers in northern Europe and Australia often as Egyptian or Galala limestone. Same blocks, a different word on the order — name the grade and the finish and you get the same stone.
Can Galala be used outside?
It depends on the grade, the finish and the climate. Facades are among the listed uses of Galala Classic and Perlato Galala; none is listed for external paving. Send us the specification before you choose: for the stone you pick we arrange water absorption, flexural strength and abrasion tests at an accredited laboratory.
Do you sell Galala in blocks?
Yes, all 4 grades, with blocks sold by the cubic metre, as well as slabs, tiles and cut-to-size.
How many square metres of Galala fit in a 20 ft container?
About 429 m² of 2 cm slabs or 286 m² of 3 cm. The minimum order is one 20 ft container, and different grades, thicknesses and finishes can share it.
How much does Galala marble cost per square metre?
We do not publish a price list: the same Galala changes price with the grade, thickness, finish, format, quantity and port, and a figure without those six is no use to you. Send them and you get FOB and CIF prices, usually within one working day.
Galala or Crema Marfil?
They are different stones from different quarries, and we do not sign them as equivalent. Galala is a warm, even beige produced in volume, which helps when a job runs in phases and the batch has to stay consistent. Send the specification and a sample and we tell you which Galala grade comes closest, with a piece to compare.
