In the UK, Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium the same stone is sold as Sunny Menia limestone — same quarries, same blocks. Egyptian limestone: Sinai Pearl, Galala and Sunny Menia
Drag the slab to turn it, or use the arrow keys. Switching finish re-renders the surface — polished throws a hard specular, the abraded finishes open the surface up and knock the colour back.
Sunny comes off the Minya escarpment on the west bank of the Nile and carries the colour of the ground it is cut from, a warm golden honey lighter than the amber horizons lower in the same bed. The thing to settle at order stage is the cut. Vein-cut, against the bed, the stone shows a faint linear drift, a quiet horizontal movement running across the slab; cross-cut, it opens into a broader and less directional figure. These are two genuinely different materials out of one block, and if the order does not say which, a floor can arrive looking like two stones rather than one batch. Five finishes are run including tumbled, and steps and sills are made alongside the tiles, so treads and thresholds come out of the same production. Of the Sunny grades it is the only one at very high availability, which is what makes it the one to run across a whole floor rather than a feature.
Sunny Medium sits one step deeper on the same Minya face — still warm honey, not yet the amber of Sunny Dark. Take Sunny Menia for the lightest field, and Medium when a scheme that has already used Sunny needs a second tone close enough to sit beside it without reading as a different stone.

Photographs
Sunny Menia in the yard
Photographs of our own blocks, slabs and finished work. Slab photography shows one slab — the block it came from is what you are quoted against.
Laid out
Sunny Menia across a floor
A photograph shows one slab on a stand. This shows the stone tile after tile — where the pattern repeats, how far the tone drifts across a batch, and what the joint does to it. Every tile here is cut from a different part of the surface, the way material comes out of a real crate.
Indicative layout. Tone drift is deliberate — no two tiles from one batch match exactly, and a laid floor should never look like one photograph repeated.
In the room
Sunny Menia against your wall colour
Nobody buys stone on a white background. Put Sunny Menia on the floor, up the wall or across a worktop, set the colour it will actually sit against, and change the light — the same three questions every client asks on a site visit, answered before the sample ships.
A scene, not a render of your project: proportions are indicative and colour on a screen is never the colour in a room. Send us the drawings and we will lay the real slab sizes out against your setting-out.
Surface
Sunny Menia, close up
The slab above turns; this is the same stone at the size it sits in your hand. Change the finish and it re-cuts.
Roughly a 130 mm span of Sunny Menia, polished. A rendered preview, not a photograph of stock — ask for a physical sample before you specify.

Formats
How Sunny Menia is supplied
Blocks
Quarry blocks selected and squared. Typical 2.6 – 3.0 × 1.5 × 1.5 m, 18 – 30 tonnes. Sold by m³, loaded on flat rack or in-container with steel cradles.
Gangsaw slabs
Full-size slabs from the gangsaw. Marble typically 2.6 – 3.0 × 1.6 – 1.9 m in 2 cm and 3 cm; granite 2 cm and 3 cm. Bundled by block so vein sequence is preserved.

Asked about this stone
Sunny Menia — questions buyers ask
Do I have to specify vein-cut or cross-cut?
Yes, at order stage. Vein-cut gives the faint linear drift the stone is known for; cross-cut opens into a broader, less directional figure. They are two different materials out of one block, and mixing them in a floor will not read as tone variation — it reads as two stones.
How do I keep the honey tone consistent across a large order?
Availability on the Minya faces is very high, so the control you have is asking for the whole quantity to be cut in one run rather than topping it up later. State the full area at order stage, and state the cut direction with it.
Can I get treads and sills to match the Sunny Menia floor tiles?
Yes — steps and sills are both in the format list alongside tiles and cut-to-size. Order them with the floor and specify the same cut direction for all of it, since a vein-cut riser beside a cross-cut tread will show.
Is Sunny Menia suitable for external use?
Facades are on its application list and it is run brushed and tumbled, which are the textured faces used outside. Tumbled is the one to look at for external tiling in particular, since it rounds the arrises as well as pitting the face.
