What sets the price of Egyptian marble and granite

Golden Sinai — marble slab
Polished slab

Drag the slab to turn it, or use the arrow keys. Switching finish re-renders the surface — polished throws a hard specular, the abraded finishes open the surface up and knock the colour back.

Golden Sinai is a deep gold with a dense crystal, and the one gold on this list finished for outside work. The ground carries irregular mineral drift — not banding, and not a repeating figure, so panels will not sequence into a pattern across an elevation. The colour is the other reason it goes outside: it holds in direct desert and Mediterranean sun rather than bleaching back over a season. The finish list runs past the interior faces into sandblasted and bush-hammered, which is what paving and a pool surround actually need, and steps are supplied as a format. Inside, polished and honed both work, though a polish on a gold this saturated is a decision about the room rather than a neutral default. Availability is medium, so an elevation quantity is better fixed early in a programme than late.

Hashma Beige is the other marble we finish for external work, but it is a beige and we do not offer it polished. Golden Sinai keeps the polish, so the same stone can run from external paving straight into an interior floor.

Photographs

Golden Sinai in the yard

Photographs of our own blocks, slabs and finished work. Slab photography shows one slab — the block it came from is what you are quoted against.

Laid out

Golden Sinai across a floor

A photograph shows one slab on a stand. This shows the stone tile after tile — where the pattern repeats, how far the tone drifts across a batch, and what the joint does to it. Every tile here is cut from a different part of the surface, the way material comes out of a real crate.

Golden Sinai tile — Egyptian marble

Indicative layout. Tone drift is deliberate — no two tiles from one batch match exactly, and a laid floor should never look like one photograph repeated.

In the room

Golden Sinai against your wall colour

Nobody buys stone on a white background. Put Golden Sinai on the floor, up the wall or across a worktop, set the colour it will actually sit against, and change the light — the same three questions every client asks on a site visit, answered before the sample ships.

A scene, not a render of your project: proportions are indicative and colour on a screen is never the colour in a room. Send us the drawings and we will lay the real slab sizes out against your setting-out.

The slab above turns; this is the same stone at the size it sits in your hand. Change the finish and it re-cuts.

Where Golden Sinai is used

  • Facades
  • Feature walls
  • External paving

Formats

How Golden Sinai is supplied

Blocks

Quarry blocks selected and squared. Typical 2.6 – 3.0 × 1.5 × 1.5 m, 18 – 30 tonnes. Sold by m³, loaded on flat rack or in-container with steel cradles.

Gangsaw slabs

Full-size slabs from the gangsaw. Marble typically 2.6 – 3.0 × 1.6 – 1.9 m in 2 cm and 3 cm; granite 2 cm and 3 cm. Bundled by block so vein sequence is preserved.

Tiles

Calibrated tiles in 30×30, 30×60, 40×40, 60×60, 60×120 cm and free length, 1.0 – 3.0 cm. Edges straight-cut or bevelled, back-mesh on request.

Cut-to-size

Worked to your drawings — worktops, vanity tops, cladding panels, mitres, cut-outs, drainage grooves, undermount polishing. Supplied piece-marked to a setting-out plan. How a cut-to-size order runs

Steps and risers

Treads with bullnose, half-bullnose or eased edge, anti-slip grooving on request, matched risers and stringers.

Asked about this stone

Golden Sinai — questions buyers ask

Can you supply it flamed?

No. Flaming is a granite process — the thermal shock damages marble — so the anti-slip faces we produce in Golden Sinai are sandblasted and bush-hammered, with brushed as the lighter option.

Will a facade sequence panel to panel?

No. The mineral drift is irregular rather than directional, so there is no vein run to carry across an elevation. Cut-to-size goes out piece-marked to a setting-out plan, so the panel sequence can be fixed on paper before anything is fixed on the building.

Which finish for a pool surround?

Sandblasted or bush-hammered — both are on the list for this stone. Bush-hammered is the more aggressive of the two and suits ramps and heavy external traffic; sandblasted gives an even matt texture without that coarseness underfoot.

Is there enough for a whole elevation?

Availability is medium rather than continuous, so a facade quantity should be ordered in one go instead of phased. Give us the total area at enquiry rather than after the first shipment.
