Drag the slab to turn it, or use the arrow keys. Switching finish re-renders the surface — polished throws a hard specular, the abraded finishes open the surface up and knock the colour back.
Sunny Dark is taken from the lower horizons of the same Minya bed that gives Sunny Menia, and the extra depth shows as a full amber with the banding much more pronounced. Some blocks carry a light russet edge to the veins and some do not, so if that edging is what sold the stone to your client, say so and ask for blocks to be selected on it. The stone is used as an accent rather than as a field: borders and inlay, a fireplace surround, a feature floor, cladding panels. The format list reflects that, running to blocks, slabs, tiles and cut-to-size with no steps or sills made as standard, so ask before you draw a stair in it. Its most common use is alongside Sunny Menia, dark bands framing lighter fields, which works because both come out of one bed and the undertone agrees. Availability sits a step below Sunny Menia's, so confirm the quantity before the drawing commits to it.
Sunny Dark and Sunny Oro both come from the rich end of the Minya bed, but they are not the same ask: Dark is an amber with pronounced banding, while Oro is the saturated gold the bed gives where the iron runs highest. Oro comes from selected blocks and its availability is lower to match, so if the drawing only needs depth rather than that gold, Dark is the easier stone to buy.

Photographs
Sunny Dark in the yard
Photographs of our own blocks, slabs and finished work. Slab photography shows one slab — the block it came from is what you are quoted against.
Laid out
Sunny Dark across a floor
A photograph shows one slab on a stand. This shows the stone tile after tile — where the pattern repeats, how far the tone drifts across a batch, and what the joint does to it. Every tile here is cut from a different part of the surface, the way material comes out of a real crate.
Indicative layout. Tone drift is deliberate — no two tiles from one batch match exactly, and a laid floor should never look like one photograph repeated.
In the room
Sunny Dark against your wall colour
Nobody buys stone on a white background. Put Sunny Dark on the floor, up the wall or across a worktop, set the colour it will actually sit against, and change the light — the same three questions every client asks on a site visit, answered before the sample ships.
A scene, not a render of your project: proportions are indicative and colour on a screen is never the colour in a room. Send us the drawings and we will lay the real slab sizes out against your setting-out.
Surface
Sunny Dark, close up
The slab above turns; this is the same stone at the size it sits in your hand. Change the finish and it re-cuts.
Roughly a 130 mm span of Sunny Dark, polished. A rendered preview, not a photograph of stock — ask for a physical sample before you specify.

Asked about this stone
Sunny Dark — questions buyers ask
Can I get Sunny Dark as stair treads?
Not as a standard format. It is made in blocks, slabs, tiles and cut-to-size only, with no steps or sills, so ask before you draw a stair in it. Sunny Menia, from the same bed, carries both steps and sills.
Will every block have the russet edge on the veins?
No — the light russet edging shows in some blocks and not in others. If that is what the client approved, put it on the order and ask for blocks to be selected on it rather than assuming it comes as standard.
How well does it pair with Sunny Menia?
That is its usual use: the two come out of the same Minya bed, so the undertone agrees and the dark bands frame the lighter fields instead of fighting them. Order both at once so they are cut in the same production run.
Can I use Sunny Dark across a whole floor?
It is normally kept as an accent — borders and inlay, a fireplace surround, a feature floor, cladding panels — because the banding is pronounced and the colour is amber at full strength. Over a large plain field it stops working as a background.
