Yellow Quartz is the warmest of the crystal quartz materials we carry and the one that transmits light best, which is why most of what we list it for assumes a light source somewhere: backlit panels, bar fronts, reception desks, lighting. Behind a bar front the whole panel goes amber rather than lighting up in one place and staying dark elsewhere. Like the rest of the semi-precious range it is made up from cut sections and backed with fibreglass mesh and resin, so what ships is a panel, not a sawn block face. It is sold as Citrine Quartz as well. Polished and honed are both available, which the agates and jaspers alongside it are not. The material reaches us as imported block through a long-standing supply partnership, and it is quoted slab by slab against what is actually in stock.
Onyx Miele covers the same honey ground when it is lit, but it is a banded natural onyx at Mohs 3-4 and the bands read as poured amber. Yellow Quartz is a crystal aggregate made up from cut sections at Mohs 6-7, so the colour is broken rather than flowing.

Yellow Quartz — questions buyers ask
Does Yellow Quartz have to be backlit?
No, but it is the crystal quartz that transmits best, and the uses we list — backlit panels, bar fronts, reception desks, lighting — mostly put a light source behind the panel. Front-lit on a feature wall you get the honey colour without the amber transmission that usually decides the specification.
Is this the same as the quartz on your Quartz pages?
No. That is engineered quartz, a pressed slab of crushed aggregate and resin made to a repeatable colour. Yellow Quartz, also sold as Citrine Quartz, is a semi-precious crystal material bought in as imported block, made up from cut sections and backed.
Can you supply several matching panels?
Not matching, no. It is quoted slab by slab against what is in stock and you choose from photographs of the actual slabs, so give us the total area at enquiry and we will tell you whether it exists.
Can it go on a worktop or a floor?
Not a floor and not outside: the semi-precious profile rules out flooring, external use and heavy traffic. Vertical lit work — bar fronts, reception desks, panels — is what it is listed for.
