Drag the slab to turn it, or use the arrow keys. Switching finish re-renders the surface — polished throws a hard specular, the abraded finishes open the surface up and knock the colour back.

Terrazzo Nile is a terrazzo read in quartz: large chips of crushed Egyptian marble — Galala, Milly Gray and Sunny — set in a pale binder, so the chips carry the same colours as the floors and walls those quarries supply. The chip size changes how the material is used. Close up it is busy; from across a room it settles into an even speckle. It suits a counter front, a run of table tops, a retail till point or a feature wall more than it suits a large domestic worktop. Edges are worth thinking about early, because a mitre or a sink cut-out will slice through chips and that cut face becomes part of the detail rather than something to hide. The chip mix is not a fixed recipe either; the availability line says enquire for chip mix, and it is meant literally. Slabs and cut-to-size, polished or honed.

Sahara Gold carries an aggregate you only notice with your hand on the surface. Terrazzo Nile carries chips you read from the other side of the room, which is why the two are specified for opposite jobs — background and foreground.

Photographs

Terrazzo Nile in the yard

We are photographing this material now. Until the shoot is done, the turning slab and the close-up below are renderings, and the honest answer to “what does it actually look like” is a sample in your hand.

No photographs yet. Ask us for the current slab and block photographs of Terrazzo Nile — we shoot them on request, in the yard, with a scale in frame. A cut sample goes out by courier the same week.

Laid out

Terrazzo Nile across a floor

A photograph shows one slab on a stand. This shows the stone tile after tile — where the pattern repeats, how far the tone drifts across a batch, and what the joint does to it. Every tile here is cut from a different part of the surface, the way material comes out of a real crate.

Indicative layout. Tone drift is deliberate — no two tiles from one batch match exactly, and a laid floor should never look like one photograph repeated.

In the room

Terrazzo Nile against your wall colour

Nobody buys stone on a white background. Put Terrazzo Nile on the floor, up the wall or across a worktop, set the colour it will actually sit against, and change the light — the same three questions every client asks on a site visit, answered before the sample ships.

A scene, not a render of your project: proportions are indicative and colour on a screen is never the colour in a room. Send us the drawings and we will lay the real slab sizes out against your setting-out.

Terrazzo Nile, close up

The slab above turns; this is the same stone at the size it sits in your hand. Change the finish and it re-cuts.

Roughly a 130 mm span of Terrazzo Nile, polished. A rendered preview, not a photograph of stock — ask for a physical sample before you specify.

How Terrazzo Nile is supplied

Gangsaw slabs

Full-size slabs from the gangsaw. Marble typically 2.6 – 3.0 × 1.6 – 1.9 m in 2 cm and 3 cm; granite 2 cm and 3 cm. Bundled by block so vein sequence is preserved.

Cut-to-size

Worked to your drawings — worktops, vanity tops, cladding panels, mitres, cut-outs, drainage grooves, undermount polishing. Supplied piece-marked to a setting-out plan. How a cut-to-size order runs

Asked about this stone

Terrazzo Nile — questions buyers ask

Can the chip mix be changed?

It is the one colour on the line quoted on a chip-mix basis rather than as a fixed recipe — that is what the availability line means. Tell us which of the marbles the project is already using and the chip scale you want, and we will come back on what is workable.

Will two panels look the same?

The ground and the mix stay the same, but the arrangement of chips differs from panel to panel. Across a large surface that reads as consistent; on two small pieces meeting at a joint you will see the difference.

What happens at a mitre or a sink cut-out?

The cut goes through the chips and the sectioned faces show along the edge. Decide the edge detail before cutting rather than after, because on this material the edge is a visible part of the design.

Can we use it as a terrazzo floor?

We do not list it for flooring — it is specified for commercial counters, table tops, feature walls, retail fit-out and vanities. For floors, ask about the Egyptian marbles the chips are crushed from.
