Drag the slab to turn it, or use the arrow keys. Switching finish re-renders the surface — polished throws a hard specular, the abraded finishes open the surface up and knock the colour back.

Cleopatra is the only stone in our marble range listed as white rather than cream or beige, and the qualification matters: it is an off-white with a creamy cast, not a cold white. The movement is shadow rather than vein — soft grey passages drifting through the ground instead of the hard graphic lines the classic Italian whites are bought for. That makes it a straightforward material to run across large wall areas, because there is nothing in the figure that has to be lined up panel to panel. It is supplied as blocks, slabs, tiles, cut-to-size, sills and mosaic, polished, honed or brushed; steps are not on the list. Availability is medium and by selected block, and that is the practical constraint on the stone: the palest, cleanest ground is picked off the face rather than run continuously, so quantity and tone have to be agreed together rather than one after the other.

Galala Extra is the other selected light grade, but it is a selection out of the Galala beige — a near-uniform cream that behaves as a neutral. Cleopatra starts from a genuinely whiter ground and keeps some grey shadowing rather than going flat.

Photographs

Cleopatra in the yard

We are photographing this material now. Until the shoot is done, the turning slab and the close-up below are renderings, and the honest answer to “what does it actually look like” is a sample in your hand.

No photographs yet. Ask us for the current slab and block photographs of Cleopatra — we shoot them on request, in the yard, with a scale in frame. A cut sample goes out by courier the same week.

Laid out

Cleopatra across a floor

A photograph shows one slab on a stand. This shows the stone tile after tile — where the pattern repeats, how far the tone drifts across a batch, and what the joint does to it. Every tile here is cut from a different part of the surface, the way material comes out of a real crate.

Indicative layout. Tone drift is deliberate — no two tiles from one batch match exactly, and a laid floor should never look like one photograph repeated.

In the room

Cleopatra against your wall colour

Nobody buys stone on a white background. Put Cleopatra on the floor, up the wall or across a worktop, set the colour it will actually sit against, and change the light — the same three questions every client asks on a site visit, answered before the sample ships.

A scene, not a render of your project: proportions are indicative and colour on a screen is never the colour in a room. Send us the drawings and we will lay the real slab sizes out against your setting-out.

Cleopatra, close up

The slab above turns; this is the same stone at the size it sits in your hand. Change the finish and it re-cuts.

Roughly a 130 mm span of Cleopatra, polished. A rendered preview, not a photograph of stock — ask for a physical sample before you specify.

How Cleopatra is supplied

Blocks

Quarry blocks selected and squared. Typical 2.6 – 3.0 × 1.5 × 1.5 m, 18 – 30 tonnes. Sold by m³, loaded on flat rack or in-container with steel cradles.

Gangsaw slabs

Window sills and thresholds

Sills, copings and thresholds with drip groove, polished ends and mitred returns.

Mosaic

Mesh-mounted mosaic in square, hexagon, basketweave and herringbone, polished, honed or tumbled.

Asked about this stone

Cleopatra — questions buyers ask

How white is it really?

Off-white with a cream cast — the lightest ground Egypt quarries in volume, but not a cold white. Set against a white-painted wall it will read warm; set against any of the Egyptian beiges it reads clearly lighter.

Will slabs from different blocks match?

Not reliably. Supply is by selected block and the brightness of the ground is exactly what the selection is made on. Take the full quantity from one selection and agree the tone before the blocks are cut.

Polished or honed for a vanity top?

Honed, in most cases. It stops short of gloss and is far more forgiving of scratching than a polish, which shows every mark on a ground this light. Keep the polish for wall cladding and feature panels, where nothing touches the surface.

Can we get stair treads in it?

Steps are not one of the formats we list for Cleopatra — it runs as blocks, slabs, tiles, cut-to-size, sills and mosaic. If the stair is part of the same scheme, raise it before you close the specification.
