Karnak Grey comes out of the same Aswan district as the red granites but reads as an even ash grey, speckled light to dark at a medium crystal — coarse enough to see, fine enough that a laid area holds together. Its case is the unglamorous one, and that is the point: hard, low-porosity, stable outdoors, and specified where the grey is meant to be background rather than a feature. It carries the full range, polished through to leathered, and every landscape format including kerbs and cobbles, so paving, kerb line, steps and facade cladding can all run in one material. Kitchen tops are a listed use, which not every Egyptian grey carries. One thing to settle before it goes into a schedule: Karnak Grey is currently marked unavailable to order, whatever the underlying supply, so check with us on timing first.
Grey Aswan is the alternative and, on availability, the practical one — the same neutral-grey position with the same full landscape format set. Karnak Grey is the coarser crystal of the two and cooler in tone, and unlike Grey Aswan it carries a leathered finish and a kitchen-top listing.

How Karnak Grey is supplied
Blocks
Quarry blocks selected and squared. Typical 2.6 – 3.0 × 1.5 × 1.5 m, 18 – 30 tonnes. Sold by m³, loaded on flat rack or in-container with steel cradles.
Gangsaw slabs
Full-size slabs from the gangsaw. Marble typically 2.6 – 3.0 × 1.6 – 1.9 m in 2 cm and 3 cm; granite 2 cm and 3 cm. Bundled by block so vein sequence is preserved.
Tiles
Calibrated tiles in 30×30, 30×60, 40×40, 60×60, 60×120 cm and free length, 1.0 – 3.0 cm. Edges straight-cut or bevelled, back-mesh on request.
Cut-to-size

How does it differ from Grey Aswan?
Karnak Grey is the coarser crystal and the cooler, ashier tone; Grey Aswan is finer and warmer. On paper the working difference is that Karnak Grey is also cut leathered and lists kitchen tops, neither of which Grey Aswan carries.
Which finish for external paving?
Flamed is what gets specified where slip resistance matters, and it holds the colour in strong sun. A slip figure belongs to a tested finish and batch, so ask for the report on the material we would actually ship before writing a number into a specification.
Can one external scheme run entirely in it?
Yes, on format: it is cut as tiles, cut-to-size, kerbs, cobbles, steps and slabs, so paving, kerb line, steps and cladding can all be the same stone. Subject to the availability position — confirm supply before the whole package is committed to it.
