Breccia Fawakhir comes out of Wadi Fawakhir, on the old road that crosses the Eastern Desert from the Nile to the Red Sea. It is a tectonic breccia rather than a plain igneous rock: angular fragments broken and then welded back together under pressure, so the surface is a hard mottled ground of pale and dark pieces with no grain and no direction to lay to. It polishes like a granite and reads like a breccia, which is why it is used where a panel is meant to be looked at — feature walls, table tops, reception desks, bar fronts. There is no repeat in it. Two slabs off one block will not agree, and there is nothing to match back to on a later order. Supply is occasional blocks rather than a continuous run, and the material is marked currently unavailable to order.
No other Egyptian granite in the range is figured like this — the greys and the reds are speckled, not patterned. Fawakhir's movement is fracture rather than flow: hard-edged fragments with no direction, so nothing carries from one slab into the next.

How Breccia Fawakhir is supplied
Blocks
Quarry blocks selected and squared. Typical 2.6 – 3.0 × 1.5 × 1.5 m, 18 – 30 tonnes. Sold by m³, loaded on flat rack or in-container with steel cradles.
Gangsaw slabs
Full-size slabs from the gangsaw. Marble typically 2.6 – 3.0 × 1.6 – 1.9 m in 2 cm and 3 cm; granite 2 cm and 3 cm. Bundled by block so vein sequence is preserved.
Cut-to-size

Breccia Fawakhir — questions buyers ask
Can I order it in tiles?
No. It is cut as blocks, slabs and cut-to-size only. The pattern works at fragment scale, and reducing it to a tile module cuts up the thing you are buying.
How do I get two panels to agree behind a bar or a reception desk?
Take them from adjacent slabs off one block, and set the layout from the actual slabs rather than from a photograph. There is no batch to come back to later, so the whole job has to come out of the material reserved at the time.
Does it have a vein direction to run?
No. The fragments are angular and randomly set, so there is no grain or vein to align and panels can be laid either way up. That also means there is no consistent figure to book-match to.
Can I buy it at the moment?
Not currently — it is marked unavailable, and its normal state is occasional blocks rather than continuous supply. Tell us the panel area and the date and we will say whether a block is coming; if it has to be another stone, New Halayeb is the nearest thing in the range for movement.
