Drag the slab to turn it, or use the arrow keys. Switching finish re-renders the surface — polished throws a hard specular, the abraded finishes open the surface up and knock the colour back.
Sahara Brown is the reason a brown worktop need not come from India or Brazil. The ground is a warm coffee brown carrying black and amber crystal, dense enough to take a hard polish and hold it, and it is the one brown Egypt produces in quantity — which for an importer means the same tone on a far shorter freight leg. The thing to plan around is where it comes from: a single quarry area, so availability is moderate rather than open-ended, and a facade quantity is better booked as one lot than gathered over a season. Polished it goes deep and warm and brings out the amber. Leathered it keeps that depth without holding every water mark and fingerprint the way a polished dark stone does, which is the finish worth asking about for a kitchen. Flamed and bush-hammered cover the external work; it is not a stone we sandblast.
Gandola is the alternative if the surface should read almost black — a near-black brown with a fine, dense grain out of Aswan. Sahara Brown stays legibly brown and shows its amber crystal, so it keeps warmth in a kitchen where Gandola would simply go dark.

Photographs
Sahara Brown in the yard
Photographs of our own blocks, slabs and finished work. Slab photography shows one slab — the block it came from is what you are quoted against.
Laid out
Sahara Brown across a floor
A photograph shows one slab on a stand. This shows the stone tile after tile — where the pattern repeats, how far the tone drifts across a batch, and what the joint does to it. Every tile here is cut from a different part of the surface, the way material comes out of a real crate.
Indicative layout. Tone drift is deliberate — no two tiles from one batch match exactly, and a laid floor should never look like one photograph repeated.
In the room
Sahara Brown against your wall colour
Nobody buys stone on a white background. Put Sahara Brown on the floor, up the wall or across a worktop, set the colour it will actually sit against, and change the light — the same three questions every client asks on a site visit, answered before the sample ships.
A scene, not a render of your project: proportions are indicative and colour on a screen is never the colour in a room. Send us the drawings and we will lay the real slab sizes out against your setting-out.
Surface
Sahara Brown, close up
The slab above turns; this is the same stone at the size it sits in your hand. Change the finish and it re-cuts.
Roughly a 130 mm span of Sahara Brown, polished. A rendered preview, not a photograph of stock — ask for a physical sample before you specify.

Asked about this stone
Sahara Brown — questions buyers ask
Is there enough material for a large facade order?
It comes from a single quarry area, so availability is moderate rather than open-ended. Send us the total quantity and the delivery dates before you write it into the specification — an elevation is a different question from a worktop programme.
Which finish for a kitchen top?
Polished takes the brown deep and brings the amber crystal out; leathered keeps that depth without showing every water mark and fingerprint. Both are standard, but there is no sandblasted option on this stone.
How does it read on a facade?
Close to, you see black and amber crystal in a coffee ground. At elevation distance it closes up into a flat dark brown, so judge it from a full tile in the finish you are buying rather than from a 10 × 10 cm sample.
Is this Egyptian material or bought in?
Egyptian, quarried in the Eastern Desert — that is the whole point of it. A brown of this tone otherwise means an Indian or Brazilian block and a much longer freight leg.
