Drag the slab to turn it, or use the arrow keys. Switching finish re-renders the surface — polished throws a hard specular, the abraded finishes open the surface up and knock the colour back.
Rosa Sinai carries a marble name and is not a marble. The polished face is a coarse crystal with no vein, no banding and nothing running one way: blocky pink-to-salmon feldspar as the leading colour, rounded grey-green quartz through it, off-white feldspar, and black mica in chunky flecks that gather on the grain boundaries and give the surface its salt-and-pepper read. It is the one granite here out of the Sinai Peninsula rather than Aswan, the Eastern Desert or the Red Sea hills, and the name sits it among the Sinai marbles, which is how it came to be filed with them. What it is specified for is unusual for this range: bathrooms and hotel guest rooms appear on no other granite we list, and the stone is bought for interior fitting-out while the rest of the range goes onto facades and paving. That is where the correction pays. A vanity top meeting cosmetics and limescale remover every day is a silicate, not a carbonate.
Hoody Light is the useful comparison among the pinks: a rose granite from the Eastern Desert with an open, bright crystal and only a light scatter of dark mineral. Rosa Sinai is the opposite read at the same distance — the biotite is heavy and clustered, so it holds a salt-and-pepper contrast against the pink where Hoody Light stays pale and even. Hoody Light is also the one to ask about for external work: it is cut flamed, bush-hammered and sandblasted, and in kerbs and steps.

Photographs
Rosa Sinai in the yard
Photographs of our own blocks, slabs and finished work. Slab photography shows one slab — the block it came from is what you are quoted against.
Laid out
Rosa Sinai across a floor
A photograph shows one slab on a stand. This shows the stone tile after tile — where the pattern repeats, how far the tone drifts across a batch, and what the joint does to it. Every tile here is cut from a different part of the surface, the way material comes out of a real crate.
Indicative layout. Tone drift is deliberate — no two tiles from one batch match exactly, and a laid floor should never look like one photograph repeated.
In the room
Rosa Sinai against your wall colour
Nobody buys stone on a white background. Put Rosa Sinai on the floor, up the wall or across a worktop, set the colour it will actually sit against, and change the light — the same three questions every client asks on a site visit, answered before the sample ships.
A scene, not a render of your project: proportions are indicative and colour on a screen is never the colour in a room. Send us the drawings and we will lay the real slab sizes out against your setting-out.

Egyptian granite — typical range
| Property | Typical value | Standard |
|---|---|---|
| Bulk density | 2,600 – 2,780 kg/m³ | EN 1936 |
| Water absorption | 0.05 – 0.40 % | EN 13755 |
| Compressive strength | 130 – 220 MPa | EN 1926 |
| Flexural strength | 10 – 18 MPa | EN 12372 |
| Abrasion resistance | 12 – 18 mm | EN 14157 |
| Frost resistance | Passes 48 cycles | EN 12371 |
| Mohs hardness | 6 – 7 | — |
| Reaction to fire | Class A1 | EN 13501-1 |
These are indicative ranges for this stone family, published so you can size a design early. They are not a test certificate. For the stone you select we arrange water absorption, flexural strength and abrasion tests at an accredited laboratory before you close a specification.
Formats
How Rosa Sinai is supplied
Blocks
Quarry blocks selected and squared. Typical 2.6 – 3.0 × 1.5 × 1.5 m, 18 – 30 tonnes. Sold by m³, loaded on flat rack or in-container with steel cradles.
Gangsaw slabs
Full-size slabs from the gangsaw. Marble typically 2.6 – 3.0 × 1.6 – 1.9 m in 2 cm and 3 cm; granite 2 cm and 3 cm. Bundled by block so vein sequence is preserved.
Tiles
Calibrated tiles in 30×30, 30×60, 40×40, 60×60, 60×120 cm and free length, 1.0 – 3.0 cm. Edges straight-cut or bevelled, back-mesh on request.
Cut-to-size
Worked to your drawings — worktops, vanity tops, cladding panels, mitres, cut-outs, drainage grooves, undermount polishing. Supplied piece-marked to a setting-out plan. How a cut-to-size order runs
Window sills and thresholds
Sills, copings and thresholds with drip groove, polished ends and mitred returns.

Asked about this stone
Rosa Sinai — questions buyers ask
We were quoted this as a marble — which is it?
A granite. The name and the origin sit it among the Sinai marbles — Sinai Pearl, Golden Sinai and Breccia Sinai are all in the marble range — but the face is coarse feldspar, quartz and mica with no vein anywhere in it. What changes for a specifier is which table the figures come off: the granite range on this page, 130–220 MPa compressive and Mohs 6–7, rather than the 70–110 MPa and Mohs 3–4 of the beige marbles. Anything written off the marble figures should be re-issued.
Can it go outside, and will it take frost?
Frost is not the objection: the granite range shown here passes 48 cycles to EN 12371 at 0.05–0.40 % water absorption. What stops it is what we cut it for. External work is not among this stone's listed applications, and the anti-slip faces we produce for paving — flamed, bush-hammered and sandblasted — are not cut in it. Brushed is, and it is an open, tactile texture, but it is offered here for interior floors and pool surrounds rather than as a traffic finish. For pink Egyptian granite paving, ask about Rosa El Nasr or Hoody Light: both are cut in all three anti-slip finishes and in kerbs and steps.
How closely will the guest-room pieces match each other?
Raise it early, because this stone is bought for repetition — the same vanity top and splashback in every room — and availability is medium and block-dependent. What moves between blocks is the balance of pink feldspar to black mica, so a later delivery can come back heavier or lighter in the speckle and still be the same stone. The crystal is coarse enough that a hand sample under-represents that range; judge it off a full slab, not a 100 mm piece. Take the whole quantity off one run where the programme allows.
Does it need sealing in a bathroom?
Buyers who were sold it as a marble ask this first. Granite is a silicate — feldspar, quartz and mica — so the citrus, wine and limescale removers that etch a carbonate marble do not attack it chemically. Mohs 6–7 is a separate property and describes scratch resistance, not that. Absorption on the granite range shown here is 0.05–0.40 %. Whether a fabricator puts an impregnator on the finished piece is their call; it is not something we specify.
