South Africa quarries granite of its own and imports marble and granite from China, Turkey, India and Italy; Egyptian stone already has a small share. Egyptian beige marble covers the warm cream look for floors and bathrooms that is otherwise bought from Turkey and Spain, and Egyptian granite adds red, black and grey slabs and tiles for kitchens, floors and stairs.

The eight steps

Choose the stone

Send the name your market knows the stone by, or a photograph, and we match it to the blocks we can supply. Every stone has its own page with its colour, origin, finishes and formats.

Send what the quotation needs

The stone, the finish, the thickness and quantity of each item and your port — or the bill of quantities or the drawing as it is. The full checklist

Documents, duty and clearance in South Africa

With every container: the commercial invoice, the packing list and the bill of lading, and a certificate of origin. Customs clearance at your end is yours or your broker's.

A certificate of origin, the commercial invoice, the packing list and the bill of lading travel with every container, and timber packaging is heat treated and marked to ISPM 15. Confirm the tariff and any import requirement with your clearing agent before we load. For the stone you select we arrange water absorption, flexural strength and abrasion tests at an accredited laboratory.
