Picture Jasper is named for what the figure does: bands and drifts that resolve into hills, horizon and sky, and it is the one material in this range people stop in front of rather than walk past. It is also the one where orientation is a decision. A slab has a way up that looks right and a way that does not, and the horizon sits where the cut put it, so mark the orientation on the slab photograph before anything is cut. We list it as a surface rather than a backlit panel: feature walls, table tops, reception desks, bar fronts, decorative objects. Polished only. It arrives as imported block through our supply partnership, is made up from cut sections and backed with fibreglass and resin, and is chosen from photographs of the actual slabs, because the picture is different on every one of them.
Petrified Wood Retro is the other material here bought for what the figure depicts — growth rings from a mineralised trunk, cut across. Its figure is concentric and turns around a centre; Picture Jasper's is horizontal and reads as landscape, so the two are not interchangeable even inside the same brown scheme.

A photograph shows one slab on a stand. This shows the stone tile after tile — where the pattern repeats, how far the tone drifts across a batch, and what the joint does to it. Every tile here is cut from a different part of the surface, the way material comes out of a real crate.
Indicative layout. Tone drift is deliberate — no two tiles from one batch match exactly, and a laid floor should never look like one photograph repeated.

Gangsaw slabs
Full-size slabs from the gangsaw. Marble typically 2.6 – 3.0 × 1.6 – 1.9 m in 2 cm and 3 cm; granite 2 cm and 3 cm. Bundled by block so vein sequence is preserved.

Which way up does a panel hang?
The figure reads as horizon and sky, so a slab has a right way up. Mark the orientation on the slab photograph before we cut, because it cannot be corrected afterwards.
Can you get two slabs with the same picture?
No — the landscape is different on every slab, which is why this category is chosen from photographs of the actual pieces rather than from a sample. If the scheme needs a repeating pattern, this is the wrong material in the range.
Is it a backlit material?
We list it as a surface: feature walls, table tops, reception desks, bar fronts, decorative objects. The materials specified for light behind them here are the quartzes, the agates and the onyx — the three jaspers are not among them.
How does it behave on a table top?
Table tops are second on its list. Seen from above the drifts read as pattern rather than as a landscape, so the slab that works on a wall is not automatically the one you want on a table. Polished only, and not for floors or external work.
