Much of the natural stone sold in the Netherlands comes in through importers who also supply Belgium and Germany, and today it is mostly Italian, Indian and Chinese. Egyptian beige limestone — Galala, Sinai Pearl and Sunny Menia — goes into floors and walls, and Egyptian granite into paving, steps and kitchens, from a shorter sea leg out of Alexandria.
The eight steps
Choose the stone
Send the name your market knows the stone by, or a photograph, and we match it to the blocks we can supply. Every stone has its own page with its colour, origin, finishes and formats.
Egyptian marble · Egyptian granite · cut-to-size · floor tiles
Send what the quotation needs
The stone, the finish, the thickness and quantity of each item and your port — or the bill of quantities or the drawing as it is. The full checklist

Shipping to the Netherlands
Alexandria → Rotterdam or Antwerp: 10 – 14 days port to port.
Transit times are indicative port-to-port sailing times and exclude customs and inland haulage. Confirm at booking — they move with the season and the service.
Documents, duty and clearance in the Netherlands
With every container: the commercial invoice, the packing list and the bill of lading, and a certificate of origin. Customs clearance at your end is yours or your broker's.
Finished stone sold for construction in the EU comes under the Construction Products Regulation: the importer who places it on the market draws up the Declaration of Performance under the harmonised standards — EN 12057 for tiles, EN 12058 for slabs and stairs, EN 1341 for external paving —, and we arrange and supply the test results for the chosen stone. Tell us the standard and the use your project is specified to. For the stone you select we arrange water absorption, flexural strength and abrasion tests at an accredited laboratory.
Egyptian-origin stone enters the EU free of customs duty under the EU–Egypt Association Agreement, with an EUR.1 or EUR-MED certificate of origin issued by Egyptian customs. Import VAT is charged at the Dutch rate.

Egyptian marble and granite for the Netherlands: route, documents and the stones that sell
Importing to the Netherlands: questions
Which stones can go outside?
Granite is the safe choice for frost-exposed paving and steps. For any limestone or marble you want outside, we arrange frost and water-absorption tests on the stone you select first.
Can you deliver to site rather than the port?
Yes, on DAP terms. Send the address and any access restriction; stone arrives on A-frames or in crates and needs room to unload.
Minimum order, payment, samples, tests and where the blocks come from are answered once for every country in the step-by-step guide.
