Greece quarries and exports marble of its own, and Egyptian stone still led its imports of worked stone in 2025, with about 15% of them, ahead of Turkey, China and Italy; Egypt supplied a quarter of the cut marble and of the cut granite (Eurostat). Hotels and renovation carry the demand: a net 68 new four- and five-star hotels in 2025, nine Marriott hotels due by 2028, the Ellinikon development in Athens, and the Exoikonomo and Anakainizo grants for home renovation.
The eight steps
Choose the stone
Send the name your market knows the stone by, or a photograph, and we match it to the blocks we can supply. Every stone has its own page with its colour, origin, finishes and formats.

Documents, duty and clearance in Greece
With every container: the commercial invoice, the packing list and the bill of lading, and a certificate of origin. Customs clearance at your end is yours or your broker's.
Egyptian-origin stone enters the EU free of customs duty under the EU–Egypt Association Agreement, with an EUR.1 or EUR-MED certificate of origin issued by Egyptian customs; import VAT in Greece is 24%. Stone sold for construction in the EU comes under the Construction Products Regulation: the importer who places it on the EU market draws up the Declaration of Performance under the harmonised standards — EN 1469 for cladding, EN 12057 for modular tiles, EN 12058 for floor and stair slabs, EN 1341, EN 1342 and EN 1343 for paving, setts and kerbs — and we arrange and supply the test results for the chosen stone. Tell us at quotation stage what your specification requires. For the stone you select we arrange water absorption, flexural strength and abrasion tests at an accredited laboratory.
